2 DAY INTENSIVE SUMMER COURSE IN DUDLEY
GDS are holding a 2 day course at Hawbush Primary School , Brierley Hill
DY5 3 NH on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July 08
We will cover the following subjects ;
Thursday 24th July 08 10 am - 12 pm SAQ Drills /
Footwork and handling / Shotstopping and positioning
12 pm - 1 pm Lunch
1 pm – 3 pm One on one
situations / reaction and improvisation and goalie wars
3 pm – 3.30 pm Cool down and feedback
Friday 25th July 08 10 am – 12 pm Aerial work /
decision making / zone control , Phase play including communication
12 till – 1 pm Lunch
1.00 pm – 3 pm Dealing with the back pass / distribution/ playing out from the back phase play / start positions and communication.
3 pm – 3.30 pm Cool down and feedback

GET WELL SOON LADDERS

Very best wishes go to Jacob “ Ladders “ Harris from everyone at Goalkeeper Development.Ladders sustained a nasty neck and back injury whilst training with his Sunday team and has been in hospital for the last week and is likely to be there for a week or so longer.
Please use the message board to send get well soon messages to Ladders and his mom and dad will pass them on to him.He is in Royal Orthopedic Northfield ward 11.
ALL THE BEST LADDERS AS YOU TAKE STEPS TO A FULL RECOVERY FROM EVERYONE AT GDS. |

| HANNAH TOPS OFF BRILLIANT MONTH WITH ANOTHER TROPHY |

Hannah Woodhall collects June 08 Keeper of the Month having had a remarkable month.
During the month of June Hanna achieved ;
• Sports Personality of the Year at School
• Saved 3 penalties in the semi final and going on to win the final of the U14 ladies tournament at Market Drayton playing for Stafford Town ladies.
• Secured a contract at West Bromwich Albion Ladies U14s
• Winner of GDS June 08 Keeper of the month.
Well done Hannah for your achievements.

GDS COMMITS TO “ KICK RACISM OUT OF FOOTBALL” CAMPAIGN
 Dave is seen here with Kevin Coleman the Grassroots Development officer have signed up to the scheme , which is set up to educate football communities to ensure that any form of discrimination is dealt with in the right way.
GDS welcome everyone regardless of their background to take part in all their activities and we are happy to work with the Kick it out campaign.

| GDS INVEST IN REVOLUTIONARY NEW GOALS |
We are pleased to be associated with Redy Set a revolutionary new inflatable goal system as demonstrated at this years GRASS ROOTS LIVE FOOTBALL event at NEC .
Coaching staff and squad members of GDS are pictured here with Peter Shilton and Billy Wingrove Professional freestyle champion with new goals.
These goals are kept in a sports bag and can be inflated within minutes and will provide an excellent aid to our coaching drills.

May 08 Keeper of the Month was awarded to Billy who despite a difficult month for him shown great character which is typical of Billy and he also has helped us coach at Dudley course and is also “the face” on the Photo Gallery website and was presented with the winning photo and the award by Danny Woodhall. |

Aaron has produced some brilliant saves this month and his improvement in a short space of time has earned him the award.

Talon who was spotted by Dave last summer and joined the Goalkeeper Development Scheme academy last year and has been with Blues since last August.Photo taken to launch this years summer course at Brierley Hill which starts May 7th.

SNIFFER SCOOPS ANOTHER TROPHY |

Sniffer Joe continues his winning streak following picking up Player of the week and Selsport Golden boot earlier in the month by scooping the MARCH 2008 GDS Golden gloves award to add to his trophy cabinet. Joe has had a fantastic month raising his own profile with some outstanding displays during the month and if he continues in this vein it wont be long before he is playing at a higher level.

LOCO SECURES GLOVE SPONSORSHIP
Dave Woodhall has managed to secure James Loco Wren with a 12 month glove deal with Stanno. James who plays for Walsall FC and West Midlands County. James has been using Stanno Ultimate Grip for the past two seasons. Stanno also supply all the kit for Goalkeeper Development scheme |

PETE GRABS FIRST GOLDEN GLOVES AWARD
CONGRATULATIONS! To Peter Hayes first winner of Goalkeeper Development Scheme goalkeeper of the month award for January 2008.

The monthly trophy was achieved for Pete’s work rate, bravery and technical ability shown in every session and sets a very high standard for all future winners to attain.
